POLL PLACE ISSUES & ELECTION REFORM

POLL PLACE ISSUES  (as of 5-15 )
Election Protection hotline, 1-866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683), for  problems at the polls or questions about voting.
ie:  voter registration, ID requirements, election procedures, voting machine irregularities, etc
Interactive website; and a real-time data-base on reported problems, www.ourvotelive.org
You will find reports/calls from local polls .   You are urged to report irregularities

Election Court at the Montgomery County Courthouse has  judges  at the ready to rule on a wide variety of elections complaints An individual voter can make an appeal but might be best to bring a lawyer, or  someone knowledgable in the election code

The Election Day Complaint Team at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office  610-278-3146.. They  work with county and local law enforcement and others to protect election integrity - and investigate and, where appropriate, prosecute violations of election law.

Violations of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) can be reported on forms available at http://www.votespa.com/portal/server.pt/community/complaints/12589 This is for issues regarding voting system standards, accessibility issues for individuals with disabilities, provisional voting, voter information requirements or the statewide voter registration database.  Voters don’t have the right to go to court to enforce violations of HAVA, but a complaint may be settled after the fact, which may particularly help in the future.

The Dept of State complaint form  is at https://www.pavoterservices.state.pa.us/Pages/ReportElectionComplaints.aspx  for registered voters. The PA Department of State, which oversees all elections in the Commonwealth, says it has no jurisdiction in these matters and will refer them to the relevant county election board.
____________________________________________________________________________

Emergency Paper Ballots   are to be issued if half or more of the machines are not working, the judge of elections will  provide them.

Provisional Ballots  are for those whose eligibility is in question - they will be verified before being counted

Knowledge is power. Stay informed to help shape your community and make a difference.

Abington Township, with John Spiegelman in charge, revamped the entire Township website at the end of 2015 and broke all the links to the information we had archived on this site for you.   In 2017, Manager Richard Manfredi arrived and assigned someone not qualified to redo the entire website again. They not only broke all archived links we had reinstated, but made everything as impossible to find as they could. Nearly all of our comments and recommedations to fix the Township website have been wholly ignored.

So we do need volunteers to work together helping the Township create a site that is functional and accessible.  We will be reinstating links as we find them....if the data is still available. So... please let us know if you find a broken link. Send us the URL of the link  and the name of the page it is on, and if we can, we'll reinstate it.
Thanks for the help.
